Waterloo Ward By-election, September 4th
A by-election has been called in the Waterloo ward of Havant Borough Council for September 4th. Waterloo ward is part of the new Meon Valley constituency. Fred Dunford is the Liberal Democrat candidate. Fred is the only candidate who actually lives in the ward.
Fred is campaigning to save Jubilee Park (Waterlooville Recreation Ground), a large green open space in the centre of Waterlooville, much loved by local residents, which Havant Borough Council has earmarked for possible future development.

Tory think tank "out of touch with reality"

Liz Leffman, Prospective Liberal Democrat MP for Meon Valley, has described a Conservative-leaning think tank as "out of touch with reality" following the suggestion that people from towns and cities in the North should pack their bags and move to the South.

GAS PRICES UP 35% - URGENT ACTION NEEDED TO PROTECT VULNERABLE

British Gas has today confirmed that it has increased gas prices by 35% and electricity prices by 9% with immediate effect. The increase will see average bills for people living in and around Meon Valley rise to more than £1,250.

BBC supports campaign for NHS dentists

BBC star presenter Dom Littlewood was in Bishops Waltham yesterday to film a programme about the appalling state of NHS dentistry in Meon Valley. It will be aired in late September on national TV.

Lib Dems support local doctors over polyclinics

Mark Oaten MP and prospective MPs for Winchester and Meon Valley, Martin Tod and Liz Leffman, met with doctors in Alresford on Monday to listen to their concerns and back their campaign opposing polyclinics in rural Hampshire.
